Holds are placed on student accounts for various reasons. Please refer to the list below for specific Bursar’s Office hold information. You can check to see if you have a hold on your account by logging onto your MyUW Student Center, selecting Tasks and reviewing any Holds listed. Some holds require you to take action; others are informational only.

BIC - Bursar Internal Collection
What does this hold mean?
You’ve made payment arrangements for your past due account balance with the Bursar’s Office.
What is the impact?
Holds enrollment until paid in full.
How do I resolve this hold?
Will be removed when your account is paid in full.
CPP - CashNet Payment Plan
What does this hold mean?
An informational indicator is placed when you sign up for the BadgerPay Payment Plan.
What is the impact?
Defers student account due date to payment plan due dates.
How do I resolve this hold?
No action is required. This is simply a notification.
DDN- Not Enrolled for eRefund
What does this hold mean?
An informational hold is placed preventing direct deposit /eRefund when a student is not enrolled for eRefund (Direct Deposit).
What is the impact?
None. Informational only.
How do I resolve this hold?
Enroll in eRefund (Direct Deposit) to receive your student account refund faster!
DDS - Suspended eRefund
What does this hold mean?
A hold is placed to suspend eRefunding.
What is the impact?
Your eRefund account has been suspended as we received notification from the bank that your account information was not valid.
How do I resolve this hold?
Update your eRefund bank information.
DOR- Sent to Department of Revenue (DOR) for Collection
What does this hold mean?
A hold is placed when your account has been referred to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for Collection for a past due student account balance.
What is the impact?
Hold prevents future enrollment and prevents payments through the Bursar’s Office.

DRN- DOR Notice Sent
What does this hold mean?
A hold is placed when your account is in danger of being sent to Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) for Collection.
What is the impact?
Holds enrollment until paid in full.
How do I resolve this hold?
Contact the Bursar’s Office to make payment arrangements.
FAR-Financial Aid Refund Hold
What does this hold mean?
An informational hold placed by Office of Student Financial Aid when a student aid package needs to be reviewed.
What is the impact?
Prevents your refund from being issued.
How do I resolve this hold?
No action required. Financial aid will resolve within 5 business days. For additional information contact Financial Aid.
FRA-Financial Responsibility Agreement
What does this hold mean?
All students must complete the Financial Responsibility Agreement prior to registration.
What is the impact?
Prevents registration.
How do I resolve this hold?
Complete the Financial Responsibility Agreement in your MyUW Student Center found under Tasks. In the To Do List, you will see a link for Terms and Conditions. Once this is completed, the hold will be removed immediately.
LEX- Exit Interview
What does this hold mean?
You must complete an electronic Exit Interview when you separate from school.
What is the impact?
Hold prevents future enrollment and transcripts/diplomas.
How do I resolve this hold?
Complete the Exit Interview through Heartland ECSI.
LMF- Delinquent Campus Based Loan
What does this hold mean?
A hold is placed when a campus based loan is past due.
What is the impact?
Hold prevents future enrollment and prevents refunds from being issued.
How do I resolve this hold?
Balance must be paid current.
LST- Delinquent Short Term Loan
What does this hold mean?
A hold is placed when a short term loan is past due.
What is the impact?
Hold prevents future enrollment.
How do I resolve this hold?
Balance must be paid in full.
RFH- Refund Hold
What does this hold mean?
A refund hold is placed when it requires review by the Bursar’s Office.
What is the impact?
Hold prevents refund from being issued.
How do I resolve this hold?
No action is required. The Bursar’s office will resolve the hold within 5 business days.
RRC - Returned Refund Check
What does this hold mean?
A returned refund check hold is placed when a student account refund check has been returned to the Bursar’s Office.
What is the impact?
None. Informational only.
How do I resolve this hold?
Stop by the Bursar’s Office to collect your student account refund check.
TUB - Tuition Unpaid Balance
What does this hold mean?
A hold is placed when a student account balance is past due.
What is the impact?
Holds enrollment until paid in full.
How do I resolve this hold?
Pay past due balance in full. If no other indicators present on account, hold will automatically be released within one hour of payment.
