The UW-Madison Bursar’s Student Loan Office creates the promissory notes for the Federal Health Profession Loan-Pharmacy, Primary Care Loan, Federal Nursing Loan, Nurse Faculty Loan, and UW-Madison Institutional Loans. These loans require a promissory note and documentation to be signed each academic year before their aid can be received.
Educational loans are financial obligations that must be repaid. It is the borrower’s responsibility to understand and meet the terms and conditions of the loan agreement.
How to Electronically Sign a Promissory Note
Students that are awarded and accept a student loan serviced by the UW-Madison will receive an email from Heartland ECSI’s emal address webmaster@ecsi.net with instructions on how to electronically sign their promissory note.
You can electronically sign your promissory note online Heartland ECSI. Sign in to an existing profile or register if you need to create a new profile.
From the home (“Your School Accounts”) screen:
- Select “Student Loans & Receivables” located under the school name.
- Select the “Documents” tab.
- Select “Review and Sign” under the Promissory Note section.
Loan proceeds are applied directly to the student’s Tuition Account.
Promissory Notes for Short Term Loans
When a short term loan is authorized by the Office of Student Financial Aid or a UW-Madison campus department, the Bursar’s Student Loan Office prepares a promissory note.
The promissory note is held at the Bursar’s Office front desk for the student to sign. At that time, the short term loan check is given to the student.
You are required to bring a photo ID to pick up your short term loan check.
